Sustaining Healthy Communities Through a New Clean Water and Wastewater Fund

Water, wastewater and storm water infrastructure is essential to keeping our waterways clean and our communities healthy and livable. Through the Clean Water and Wastewater Fund (CWWF), Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Canada provides communities with more reliable water and wastewater systems so that both drinking water and effluent meet legislated standards.

In addition to delivering support for provincial, territorial and municipal water and wastewater priorities, the federal Government will fund up to 50 per cent of eligible costs for projects. This Fund is improving the safety and quality of water for Canadian families, while supporting a clean economy. Funding under the CWWF is allocated on a per capita basis, in addition to $50 million for each province and territory, as per the Clean Water and Wastewater Fund (CWWF) allocations table.
