Figure 1: Government of Canada’s IICP Governance Structure

Figure 1 presents the Investing in Canada plan (IICP) governance structure as of May 2018.  The structure can be read from bottom to top and has two levels: Interdepartmental level and Minister’s level

At the bottom, the interdepartmental level includes the Deputy Minister’s coordinating Committee, the IICP Secretariat and various working groups as well as an ADM Strategies Working Group, a Communications Working Group, a Program and Results Working Group, an Information Technology (IT) Working Group.

At the top, the Minister’s level consists of two entities: the Investing in Canada Committee and the Ministerial Results Table (MRT) besides the Agenda, Results and Communications (ARC) cabinet committee.

Figure 2: Horizontal Results and Reporting Division Chart

Figure 2 illustrates the organizational structure of the Horizontal Results and Reporting Division within INFC’s Policy and Results Branch.

Level 1: Director of Horizontal Results and Reporting

Level 2:  Manager of Horizontal Reporting and Manager of Horizontal Governance and Results

Under the Manager of Horizontal Reporting, it has Senior Policy Analyst, Policy Analyst and Program Support Assistant

Under the Manager of Horizontal Governance and Result, it has Senior Policy analyst, Policy Analyst and Junior Analyst

Figure 3: IICP reporting process

The graphic describes summarily the typical IICP reporting process followed by the 14 Other Government Departments (OGD). 

The process starts with OGD Partners who provide IICP Secretariat with Accounting, Performance and Geographic Information System Data via e-mail and within Excel spreadsheets. 

Then, The Secretariat ensures the Integration and the quality assurance of the Data before Geomapping, preparing reports and briefings, and releasing them on the website
