The graph portrays the average age of public infrastructure in Canada, from 1961 to 2011. The average age of core public infrastructure in Canada peaked in 2001 at 17.0 years and has rapidly declined to 14.4 years in 2011 as a result of significant levels of infrastructure investments by all levels of government over the last ten years.
