Impact
The Build Communities Strong Fund (BCSF) Community stream, formerly the Canada Community-Building Fund (CCBF), is a permanent, legislated, stable program that flows funds to roughly 3,700 Canadian municipalities through their respective provinces and territories (PTs). These funds contribute to over 5,000 projects each year to help municipalities build and revitalize their public infrastructure. These investments create outcomes that support four long-term program objectives, which are in line with departmental priorities of Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Canada (HICC):
- Increasing productivity and economic growth;
- Contributing to a clean environment;
- Contributing to strong cities and communities; and
- Increasing housing supply and affordability.
