Transforming Lives and Empowering Youth in Calgary
Funding provided through Reaching Home: Canada’s Homelessness Strategy
In Calgary, Alberta, The Triveri House, operated by Enviros in collaboration with the Calgary Homeless Foundation, is partnering with Reaching Home: Canada’s Homelessness Strategy to prevent and eliminate homelessness among the community’s youth.
The Triveri House follows the ‘Housing First’ model.
A model that focuses on quickly transitioning those facing homelessness into secure, long-term housing with tailored support. The aim is to promote housing stability, improve quality of life, and encourage self-sufficiency.
The Triveri House journey begins when an at-risk youth meets with a dedicated caseworker to discuss and identify their individual strengths and goals. This is a relationship that goes beyond providing a safe space. It offers support that bring both short-term and long-term benefits, caters to personal needs, and provides a safe environment with a sense of belonging.
Whether it’s helping them finish school, supporting their mental health needs, or providing addiction treatment supports, The Triveri House doesn't just tackle challenges associated with homelessness; it addresses the root causes.
What makes The Triveri House stand out even more is its commitment to encouraging financial independence. It acknowledges the challenges faced by those with limited incomes and helps obtain necessary documents, offers rent and utilities subsidies, and enhances overall financial literacy. This empowerment leads to independence and stability.
The Triveri House's success has transformed lives and prevented youth homelessness by providing a stable environment, assistance, and tools for young Calgarians.
