Splash into Summer at the Fort Simpson Park
Funding provided through the Investing in Canada Plan.
Imagine a place where laughter fills the air, where children can play, and families and friends meet to spend quality time together. This vision has come to life in Fort Simpson, Northwest Territories, thanks to a federal infrastructure investment. The Fort Simpson Park and Splash Pad is an example of how federal investments in public recreational spaces can create healthier, happier, and more united communities.
Fort Simpson is a small, tight-knit village where every new community development has a significant impact. For residents, having access to a dedicated space for outdoor fun, especially during the summer months, has been essential for the community’s physical and mental wellbeing.
The community’s first splash pad and the new park invite the young (and young at heart!) to climb, slide, and splash. While children play, adults are able to relax at the gathering area, perfect for community celebrations and BBQs. As summer weather bathes the town, the splash pad becomes a refreshing retreat for the community where families can cool off, make memories, and enjoy the outdoors.
