An Urban Forest Project Is Growing Every Day, and So Are the Benefits
Funding provided through the Disaster Mitigation and Adaption Fund.
The Urban Forest project in York Region, Ontario takes root, aiming to plant more than 400,000 trees and shrubs. The Urban Forest is just one of the many infrastructure projects that proactively reduces the impacts of climate change. By strengthening the region's tree canopy, this initiative addresses air quality concerns while functioning as a natural defence against flooding, keeping residents safe and fostering a resilient community.
