There are several other help desks available. What makes this one different?
The HICC Climate Help Desk is focused on helping communities across the country climate-proof their public infrastructure and housing development projects. HICC's goal is to promote best practices for planning, designing, and operating infrastructure that can withstand climate challenges and reduce carbon emissions.
Do the Climate Help Desk responses carry legal compliance implications?
The information and resources offered by the Climate Help Desk are for guidance only. The service aims to assist communities in including climate resilience and low-carbon approaches in their projects. This advice does not substitute for detailed technical studies or professional services from engineers, planners, architects, or contractors.
How quickly can I expect a response after submitting my inquiry?
The Climate Help Desk aims to respond to inquiries within five (5) business days. You will be informed if more time is required for complex questions or requests.
Can the Climate Help Desk connect me with other communities, organizations or experts working on similar issues?
Yes, the Climate Help Desk can help communities connect with other relevant groups, including government agencies, non-profits, academic institutions, other communities, and more.
When necessary, the Climate Help Desk consults with internal or external experts to assist in responding to questions. For more advanced support, we can help connect eligible communities to the Roster of Climate and Infrastructure Experts.
