Overview
Infrastructure Canada (INFC) is implementing a new climate initiative to help municipalities across Canada build low-carbon resilient housing and infrastructure. This work is funded through the National Adaptation Strategy (NAS) and the Government of Canada Adaptation Action Plan and in support of the 2030 Emissions Reduction Plan.
The climate initiative will provide a suite of integrated climate-related supports for municipalities. Components include a web-based climate and infrastructure platform; assistance from INFC staff; and a roster of pre-qualified, independent climate and infrastructure experts who will directly support municipalities in strengthening the climate-related considerations of their infrastructure projects.
Call for proposals: The Roster of Climate and Infrastructure Experts
The Roster will consist of pre-qualified climate and infrastructure experts recruited to provide technical advice to communities on climate adaptation and mitigation infrastructure.
This call for proposal seeks applications to implement the Roster of Climate and Infrastructure Experts. Available funding for this call for proposals is up to $16.5 million from 2024-25 through 2027-28.
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Establishing the selection and assessment criteria to recruit climate and infrastructure experts across Canada;
- Matching Roster Experts with communities across Canada;
- Overseeing all Roster Expert engagement with local communities;
- Establishing service standards;
- Scoping engagements and ensuring high quality services are provided to communities;
- Establishing and maintaining partnerships with regional climate and infrastructure organizations; and
- Providing regular reports to Infrastructure Canada and sharing insights to drive continuous improvement.
Who can apply?
Eligible applicants can be legal entities validly incorporated or registered in Canada, including:
- Non-governmental (not-for-profit) organizations;
- Professional associations;
- Academic institutions; or
- Community or regional organizations.

Applicants must use the Application Form and Budget Template and complete all the required fields.
The deadline for submission of applications is June 10, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. PDT. Please email all required documents to Climate-Infra-Climat@infc.gc.ca.
